This is The Next Big Blog Hop. This provides an opportunity for authors to show off their craft to others. I was tagged by @ A.Edrington. Thank you for inviting me along this blog hop! I have tagged, @Dave King, and you can check out his blog hop tomorrow!!!
I'm going to be answering some questions about my Street Justice Series today so if you like Christian Mystery with a dash of romance sit back and enjoy the interview.
What is the title of your Series?
Street Justice, I have book one and two out now, book 1, Charlie's Angel, book 2, Tidal Wave, book three will be out soon, Reasonable Service.
Where did the idea for the Series come from?
This idea came from a dream, it's where a lot of my novels come from. I believe that God shares a scene from a book with me, and then he allows me to work out the rest of the story within a few months.
Christian, Mystery/detective, with some romance. I like to call it Life Fiction, because there is so many things in my novels that deals with every day life problems. It's a bit of Women's Fiction, Mystery, Romance, Suspense, all wrapped up into one series.
Will your books be self-published or represented by an agency?
I've been self publishing since 2010, and I love being my own boss. I love making my own covers, and setting my own hours. I think it's a great way to get your novels out there, but you do need a awesome cover, and a good editor to make it these days as an Indie Author.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
It took me about fifteen days to get down the first 50 thousand words, after that I'd say it took me about another two months to finish the first draft. Then came the hard part the editing and trying to keep one eye on the laptop and one eye on my two babies. I always share Jack & Maxx when I can.
What other works would compare to your story?
I've been told by some readers that my Series is like Law and Order with kissing, though I must say there are no court rooms scenes, at least not yet. I've had a car chase, a plane crash, drug dealers, and a kidnapping. There are a lot of real life issues, from abortion, to attempted murder, from dealing with dating to living with a non-christian, and in the next few books the saga continues. We see what it's like to live on the streets, we learn about forgiveness, and patients, to name a few. My characters have many issues, to deal with. I try to lead by example, I like having situations that show Christians in bad circumstances, but in the end I always try to show a way of escape.
Who or What inspired you to write this Series?
God first because he keeps giving me more dreams and more story lines. Second, I would have to say, the people in the Series inspired me. I just couldn't delve into everything I needed too for one novel, so I thought why not make it a Series. It's a good way to look into the lives of everyone that live and work around Charlie and Angel, my two main characters. I hope to have at least ten books in this series, and after that who knows, maybe more.
What else might pique the reader’s interest?
I think Christians are looking for a good clean read, something that will hold their attention, and maybe help them with their day to day life, but still entertain them. The teen out there, that wants to say no to their boyfriend, will see how Charlie deals with romance, and staying a virgin. Young men, will learn the importance of staying pure, and hopefully all teens, and young adults will receive the message that it's okay to wait, and that it's really a blessing to only have sex with the one person you'll spend the rest of your life with.
I love this series, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope that you'll check out the first book in my Street Justice Series, by popular demands it's still on sale for .99 cents.
Also, check out these other great authors, and see what they're writing about these days.
